The Phuket International Women’s Club or PIWC, a social network & non-profit organisation, held its annual Scholarship Presentation for this Year 2008 at Satree Phuket School Auditorium last week.
There were over 100 students attending out of a total of about 180 from all the schools, colleges
and universities in Phuket province, whom PIWC has been sponsoring for many
years, including new ones for this year, but this was the first time PIWC held a joint large ceremony to bring all their worthy students and generous sponsors together, instead of holding separate ceremonies in Phuket.
They had already given some other scholarships in nearby Phang Nga province, while some local students had already graduated and moved to Bangkok or upcountry. PIWC also encouraged them with more assistance in university entrance exams, as PIWC President, Sue Anulphy, explained:

Some of the PIWC’s Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors from last year’s Gala Ball then presented scholarships to the many students or their families. They sponsor the students’ education for the next 2, 3 or 4 years. Some students’ tears were shed, as the scholarships give them hope in their education and future jobs that prior to meeting PIWC, may not have been possible, as Sirintip Jaturarinyasaj from Prince of Songkhla University campus in Phuket, representing all the students, expressed their heartfelt appreciation:
