  • Annie Le memorial video

Posted by admin on January 26th, 2010 and filed under scholarship money | 8 Comments »

This is a tribute video I made to honor the life of Annie Le. She was murdered September 8th, 2009 while working in the lab at Yale University, just 5 days before her wedding. The only suspect so far is Ray Clark, a lab tech.

By all accounts she was brilliant, amassing 160,000$ in scholarship money, and earning a free ride to The University of Rochester in New York. She majored in cell and developmental biology, and graduated with honors and near perfect grades. Annie then went on to Yale University to pursue her Ph.D in pharmacology working on research to treat such diseases as muscular dystrophy, some cancers, and diabetes.

She was engaged to Jonathan Widansky whom she met at The University of Rochester.

Annie was brilliant, caring and beautiful, and we will never know what she may have brought to our society through her research. Her potential, both professional and personal, was unlimited, and dwarfed only by the size of her heart and the power of her spirit.

I did not know Annie personally, but her story inspired me. She accomplished more in 24 years then most of us in a lifetime.
