    “Heather Hererra has spent most of the last 13 years as a stay at home mom raising her girls in Mesquite. She worked in the family business, keeping the books, but always longed for something more. “I felt like a degree could take me places, I really …didn’t have a lot on my resume.”

    Hererra knew money for college would be tight, so she looked for scholarships. “At my age, it’s a little hard to find scholarships that apply to me,” she said. “I had mediocre grades in high school.”
