An anonymous graduate has pledged to donate $610,000 to Centre College if 61% of the College’s alumni make a gift of any amount before June 30th.

You can make a donation in one of two ways.

1.) Write a check to Centre College Annual Fund and mail it via “snail mail” to campus.

2.) Pay by credit card. You can either visit gifts.centre.edu or call 1-877-678-9822.

Remember, if you’ve already made a gift for this year, it won’t bring our participation percentage up any more, but of course…any gift is profoundly appreciated.

The Early Childhood Education scholarship Initiative seeks to transform the lives of children who risk entering the public school system at an educational and behavioral deficit that will forever hamper their ability to learn and to succeed in school and in life. The Community Foundation’s goal is to make a difference in the lives of children by capitalizing upon the “Window of Opportunity.” In the pilot phase of the Early Childhood education scholarship Initiative, scholarships are being provided in Davidson County, Tennessee.

With the new academic year about to begin, the delay in announcement about education allowance has made it difficult for military families.

For those claiming CEA they’ve had to, or will have to, send their children back to their present boarding school in the hope they can still afford it after the announcement.

After the rules of eligibility for CEA changed at the end of last year the MOD have said families who had to move their children won’t have to pay back any CEA they’d already claimed.

This concession may also have be extended to families who have to move their children after the new announcement.

The Education scholarship Scheme for Bereaved Children launched earlier this year.

It entitles children who’ve lost a parent in the armed forces to a grant to help them achieve higher education qualifications.

Victoria Hale became uncertain about her future after her Dad was killed in Afghanistan two years ago, but now she’s off to the University of the West Of England in Bristol.

She’s one of the first to apply for the scholarship.
